Aidan Renouf lifted the Little Britain Merchants to a 6-3 victory with a hat trick against the North Kawartha Knights.
Renouf got on the scoresheet 8:26 into the third period. He then added goals at 8:48 into the third and at 18:21 into the third.Little Britain kept North Kawartha's goalie busy throughout the game, and Spencer Green made 36 saves on 42 shots.
Little Britain additionally got points from Derek Risebrough, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Terry Snoddon also scored for Little Britain. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Kenzie Smith, who had one and Hayden Long, who had two.
The Knights managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. North Kawartha finished below its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. The Knights forced the Merchants goalie Adam Harris to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.
