The Tavistock Braves relied on the scoring touch of Derek Hyde, who netted two goals, to beat the Burford Bulldogs, 6-1.

Hyde's tallies came at 12:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock and 14:37 into the first to make the score 2-0 Tavistock.

Tavistock was led by goalie Riley Collins, who finished with 48 saves while allowing one goal. Collins certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.24 entering the contest.

The Braves forced Burford goalie Michael Black to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots. Tavistock bested its season scoring average. The Braves have scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Tavistock was hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time.

Tavistock additionally got points from Jared Yantzi, who also registered one goal and one assist and Braedon Hancock, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Tavistock also had goals scored by Jake Wiffen and Angus Rowland, who each put in one. In addition, Tavistock received assists from Dalton Smith AP, who had two, Jacob Rooke, who had three, and Kevan Hadad and Tyler Clark, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs were often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Burford had been averaging 23.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Bulldogs did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Burford puts an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. The Braves were unable to stop the Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Burford eventually piled up 49 shots on goal. Team could not crack Tavistock's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

The Braves registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Tavistock ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Hadad was ejected from the game. Michael Black made 46 saves for the Bulldogs on 52 shots. For Burford, Daiken Salsman was ejected from the game.
