Kumar's big game bests Serra Catholic in 7-4 South Fayette win

Ian Kumar was all over the ice for South Fayette, as he tallied two goals and two assists in South Fayette's 7-4 win over Serra Catholic.

Kumar scored at 12:46 into the first period to make the score 3-1 South Fayette and again while 3:01 into the second to make the score 4-3 South Fayette.

South Fayette stifled Serra Catholic's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Serra Catholic was unable to stop South Fayette from sending pucks towards the net, and South Fayette eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

South Fayette also got points from Jeremy Anthos, who also tallied two goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Brendan Nelson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for South Fayette included Dante Cecere and Logan McConnell, who each put in one. In addition, South Fayette received assists from Spencer Barber, who had three and Eric Milburn and Augie Bishop, who each chipped in one.

Serra Catholic was held below its usual level of production. Serra Catholic puts an average of 6.3 pucks into the net per game. Serra Catholic's offense rang up 53 shots on South Fayette's net.

Serra Catholic was helped by Matthew Ulishney, who grabbed one goal. Ulishney scored 1:21 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Gage Billingsley picked up the assist. Serra Catholic also got a goal from Zachary Zapata as well. Other players who recorded assists for Serra Catholic were Michael Ulishney, Joseph Goldstein, and Justin Hummert, who contributed one each.
