The Ayr Centennials relied on the scoring touch of Jake Whibbs, who netted two goals, to beat the Burford Bulldogs, 6-3.
Whibbs' tallies came at 7:52 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Ayr and 11:37 into the first to make the score 4-1 Ayr.Ayr stifled Burford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Centennials forced the Bulldogs goalie Michael Black to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.
Ayr additionally got points from Tyler Harrison, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Cash Seraphim, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Brendan Schaefer, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Ayr also got a goal from Quinn Diamond as well. In addition, Ayr received assists from Mitch Klie, Zachary Masterson, Connor MacLean, and Jordan Pettitt, who each chipped in one and Mackenzie Kemp and Riley Clipper, who contributed two each.
