Blades Announce 2016-2017 Roster
Date: Oct 3, 2016
The Boston Blades head north this weekend to continue their 6 straight game stretch against the Brampton Thunder. Saturday’s game starts at 6:30 PM, while Sunday’s contest, which can be seen on CWHLLive.com, begins at 1:30 PM.
The Blades and Brampton faced off in Boston last weekend, with the Thunder taking both contests. In Saturday’s game, Blades forward Eli Tremblay gave Boston their first lead of the season in the second period, but the Bladies couldn’t hold it. Candice Styles and Jess Jones registered tallies for the Thunder in the third period to give Brampton the win. Genevieve Lacasse made 51 saves for the Blades in the defeat.
Sunday’s contest was a different story, with the Thunder opening the scoring. Rebecca Vint, a presence throughout the game, scored with less than a minute remaining in the first period to give Brampton a 1-0 lead. Blades captain Tara Watchorn would tie the game up for Boston in the second with her second goal of the season, but the Thunder struck back with three unanswered tallies for the victory. Lacasse made 43 saves for Boston.
This weekend will see the Blades head on the road for the first time since they faced Calgary on October 24th and 25th. The Blades will again host Brampton in Boston on December 5th and 6th, finishing a stretch of 6 straight games against the Thunder.
