The Ayr Centennials' Cash Seraphim had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 8-4 win over the Burford Bulldogs.
Seraphim's tallies came on the power play at 5:53 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 14:50 into the second to make the score 7-1 Ayr.Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 15:18 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.
Ayr bested its season scoring average. The Centennials have scored at the pace of 5.8 goals per game during the current campaign.
Ayr also got points from Mitch Klie, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Zach Masterson, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Tyler Harrison, who also registered one goal and one assist, Quinn Diamond, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Brendan Schaefer, who also racked up one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Ayr also got a goal from John Nay as well. In addition, Ayr received assists from Ben Roelofson, Logan Beechey, Jordan Pettitt, Yianni Skropolis, and Sean Mitchell, who each chipped in one.
Burford was helped by Tyler Mellish, who had one goal. Mellish scored 2:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Burford. Matt Zilke provided the assist. David Denardi also scored for Burford. Other players who recorded assists for Burford were Jesse Szabo, who had two and Daiken Salsman, Ryan McLeod, and Tyler Hinde, who contributed one each.
Mitch Figueredo recorded 26 saves for Ayr. The Centennials totaled 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and two majors and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Team's Roelofson and Mitchell were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. The Bulldogs' starting goalie, Jack Stockdale, made six saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Michael Black, who stopped 15 shots. Burford totaled 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For the Bulldogs, Hinde and Brendyn Martyniuk were ejected from the contest.
