North Allegheny outlasts Butler, 5-4

Seneca Valley failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Butler shook off a number of penalties to win, 4-1.
Butler was paced by Connor Scott, who finished with one goal and one assist. Scott scored on the power play 5:16 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Butler. Butler earned a power play opportunity when Mac Michael was put in the box for tripping. Sam Gross assisted on the tally.
Butler excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances.
Butler also got points from Ben Rodgers, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Trevor Gilliland also scored for Butler. In addition, Butler received assists from Cameron Barto and Garrett Banner, who each chipped in one.
Seneca Valley could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Seneca Valley puts an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. Seneca Valley's offense was handcuffed by Butler's defensive play, and Seneca Valley managed only 12 shots on goal during the game. Seneca Valley struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 14 penalty minutes for four opposing power plays.
Seneca Valley was led by Braden White, who scored the team's only goal. White scored 2:28 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Butler. Zachary Broskey provided the assist.
Zachary Schnur recorded 11 saves for Butler. Butler incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Alyssa Peterson made 19 saves for Seneca Valley on 22 shots.
