Midget 16U AA takes the Lake Erie Cup

Congratulations to the North Pittsburgh Wildcats Midget 16U AA team for winning the Lake Erie Classic Tournament.  The tournament was hosted by Team Ohio and took place in Cleveland at a number of different venues over the weekend of October 16-18. 

On Friday, the Wildcats opened up the tournament with a tie against the Wheatfield Blades, 2-2.  Brendan Garrity scored the tying goal with less than a minute left in the game.  Logan Johnson was outstanding in net.

On Saturday, the Wildcats won their first game against Sylvania 6-4.  Steven Dietz recorded a hat trick.  In their second game on Saturday, the Wildcats beat Ashburn Extreme 3-1.  Tyler Draper had 2 goals and Logan Johnson stopped 17 of 18 shots.  

With that win, the team advanced to the championship, in which they defeated the Armstrong Arrows by the score of 2-1.  Cam Zahn had both goals and scored the winning goal with less than 30 second left in the game. Ryan Heil was outstanding in net stopping all but one shot.

Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families again and keep up the great work.  GO WILDCATS!
