Danny Gonzalez Named Rookie of the Year!

Date:  Source: NABL: Chico Outlaws

(San Ramon, CA. October 12th, 2011) The North American League announced today that Chico Outlaws second baseman Danny Gonzalez has been named the 2011 Rookie of the Year. Gonzalez made his professional debut for the Outlaws and was a big contributor at a crucial position all year long for Mike Marshall’s squad after an impressive collegiate career at the University of New Mexico.

Just 23 years old, Gonzalez followed up a senior season which saw him hit .322 with a professional debut in which he hit .310 with 11 doubles and 27 RBI for the Outlaws. The 5’11, 170 pound infielder was also an asset defensively as he showed excellent range at a tough middle infield position. The Outlaws have exercised Gonzalez’ option for the 2012 season and are looking forward to having him back in the fold.

The North American League will continue to announce the 2011 awards winners, with another winner being announced tomorrow
