Blades Announce Draft Class of 2015
Date: Aug 25, 2015

In the second game of the two game series, the Boston Blades took the 3-2 loss against the Toronto furies.
The first period was slow to start the action until Kacey Bellamy found herself in the penalty box for cross checking. Lexie Hoffmeyer of the Toronto Furies soon after found herself in the same spot with the same penalty. Neither team was able to capitalize on their respective power play opportunities. It was Toronto who got the scoring started out 18:48 into the period with a goal by newcomer Kelly Terry who proved to be a thorn in the Blades side in her first two games with the Furies.
The second period's scoring got started much faster with Blades Rachel Llanes assisted by Jessica Koizumi and Jillian Dempsey scoring the Blades first goal of the game and tying the score 1-1. Both Blades Kaleigh Fratkin and Furies Michelle Bonello would see penalties for interference and roughing respectively but neither team would be able to score during their opportunities.
This tight race would be decided in the third period. Just 3:21 into the period, Toronto's Shannon Moulson would find time in the penalty box for hooking. However, the Blades league best power play would be unable to score. With 11:23 into the period, Toronto's Alyssa Baldin would score to put the Furies on top of the Blades 2-1. Just a few minutes later, the Furies would score again to give them a 3-1 lead over the Blades. In a last effort, the Blades pulled their goalie and were able to score thanks to Kacey Bellamy. That would, however, be the last goal the Blades would be able to net despite having their chances, leaving a score of 3-2 Toronto.
The Blades next game takes place in 2015. Join us on Saturday, January 3rd for an exhibition game at Providence College.
