Overview
Title: Program Coordinator
Primary Work Location: Fredericton, Moncton and Saint John (some travel required)
Duration: 12 weeks (Mid May – Mid August)
Reports to: Executive Director, Football New Brunswick
Football New Brunswick will be hiring one summer student to work within the organization this spring and summer. Please read the required responsibilities, qualifications and eligibility criteria and submit your application no later than 4:00pm on Thursday May 7th, 2015.
The employee will be asked to operate within the by-laws, policies and programs established by the Board of Directors of Football New Brunswick. Because the selected student will represent Football New Brunswick in many formal and informal settings, the student will have to maintain a positive public profile within both the football and sports communities.
This position is being offered through the NB SEEDS program. Applicants must be registered with the Provincial Student Referral Office to apply. Contact the Department of Post Secondary Education, Training and Labour for information.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the selected candidate will include but are not limited to the following:
Work with FNB staff to coordinate introduction football camps in target bilingual growth areas.
Assist with the coordination of Football NB provincial teams;
Work with the Football NB fundraising coordinator on fundraising initiatives
Update and create website and social media content
Work with the FNB staff in the role out of the football Growth Plan;
Work in collaboration with the minor football organizations;
Support the efforts of the FNB staff, working committees, and other volunteers in the fulfilment of their roles and duties;
Work in collaboration with a number of multi-sport and partner organizations;
Other duties as directed by the Executive Director
Qualifications & Eligibility
To be eligible the candidate must be:
a resident of New Brunswick or a First Nation Community in New Brunswick
entitled to work in Canada
licensed with a valid driver’s license
a post-secondary student in the current academic year and be attending a post-secondary institution in the fall
must be registered with the Provincial Student Referral Office
The following criteria is not required but would be considered an asset:
A candidate that:
is bilingual
has knowledge of the game of football as a player, coach, official and/or manager
has experience working with youth
is a 2nd or subsequent year student in a kinesiology, recreation or sport management program
has National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Credentials
