Warriors Roll Blazers in Games 1 and 2 of Finals

BREMERTON, WA - The West Sound Warriors did not miss a beat. With the sweep of the Cheney Ice Hawks in the first round, the Warriors were able to get a couple more days rest in between rounds. The Blazers, however,  were forced into a 5 game series that took a toll.

West Sound came out firing in the first game but were unable to get on the board despit outshooting Bellingham 15-6. It wasn't unti two minutes into the second period when Steven Zavesky (Siebert) was able to get the first puck past netminder Cody Foster that the floodgates would open.Four minutes later Gavin Nickerson (Siebert, Kolbeins) took advantage of their power play opportunity. Not to be outdone, Jimmy Morgan (Siebert, Kolbeins) scored 40 seconds later on the extended advantage. Just before the end of the period, Matthew Walters (Kolbeins) scores a back breaker. Bellingham went to their locker room down 4-0 and outshot 27-10 to that point. The Blazers would not go quietly and scored their first goal at five minutes into the period and there it would stay until five minutes left in the game when Luke Van Schaack (Morgan, Siebert) fut in the fifth goal for the Warriors. The Blazers would score next on the powerplay wich finally awoke the lax Warriors. Matthew Walters Scored 8 seconds later to finish the game at 6-2.

Game 2 was more of the same.  Goalie Joe Morgan pitched a shut out as the Warriors rolled to a 6-0 win. The line of Jimmy Morgan, Vance Siebert and Luke Van Schaack were absolutely on fire and scored 5 of the 6 goals. Game 3 will be in Bellingham on Friday. See you there!
