Association Announces Goaltender University

Date:  Source: PAHL North Pittsburgh Wildcats

Dear hockey families:

North Pittsburgh is proud to announce the start of the North Pittsburgh Goaltender University (NPGU).

NPGU is designed specifically with one goal in mind: develop and train goalies within the North Pittsburgh program to become the top area goaltenders.

NPGU programming will be provided by local goaltending instructors and the current North Pittsburgh coaching staff.  NPGU will host a number of specific programs that will target goalies by age and skill level to give them focused instruction that is often overlooked in routine practices.

NPGU plans to host on-ice and off-ice sessions as well as classroom theory in order to develop young talent to compete and dominate at every level.

NPGU will kick off its first event with a series of Pre Tryout and Conditioning Sessions.

The following sessions will be offered:

  • Squirts and Peewees:
    • April 2 from 6:00pm to 7:20pm
    • April 3 from 5:30pm to 6:50pm
  • Girls, Bantams, and Midgets:
    • April 10 from 5:30pm to 6:50pm
    • April 12 from 4:30pm to 5:50pm

These sessions are free to all attendees planning to attend Wildcats tryouts.

Attention 2003-2006 birth year players: Thinking about playing for the Wildcats?  NPYHA is in need of goalies at your age level.

Attention 2007 birth year players: are you thinking about playing goalie?  You are welcome to attend the Squirt/Peewee sessions, but are responsible for providing your own ice hockey-specific goalie gear.

North Pittsburgh will be announcing future NPGU camps, clinics and off-ice sessions after tryouts.  We look forward to seeing you on the ice and making the BIG SAVE!

To register for a session, please send an e-mail to Tim Texter at texter25@gmail.com.  Please include your player's name, birth date, and gender in your response.
