Grundy Senators and Grundy Arena host USA Hockey ADM clinic

On Thursday night January 8th, 2015 The Grundy Senators hosted a USA Hockey ADM clinic at the Grundy Arena.  The event was run by USA Hockey’s Regional ADM Manager Matt Herr along with our local ADM Manager, Gump Whiteside.  USA Hockey’s American Development Model (ADM) is an effort to reshape the way hockey is taught and played in our country.  This program focuses on Long term athlete development and strongly emphasizes skill development over winning at the younger ages.  This translates into better player retention and more skilled players in the long run. 

The Senators had a great showing at this event!  Close to 50 players took the ice along with 14 Senators coaches.  The ice was divided into 6 stations and players were run through drills focusing on everything from skating to gameplay.  The concept of having fun was at the top of the list.  The on ice session was followed by an informative parents and coaches presentation.  Overall the event was a huge success and a great honor for the Senators and all Grundy hockey players.  The Grundy Arena would like to thank Senators President Jennifer Sabatini, Gump Whiteside, and Matt Herr for bringing this great event to our facility.
