The Grundy Grizzlies captured their first ever DVHL championship on Sunday when the Bantam Blue team defeated the Lehigh Valley Rebels in a matchup that took 3 overtimes and 8 rounds of shootout to decide.  The Grizzlies won their final 3 regular season games to sneak into the playoffs.  They entered the weekend as the #3 seed in a tough division.  The Grizzlies defeated our own Grizzlies White team in the semi-final matchup on Saturday to advance to the Championship game.  Facing the #1 seed Rebels, the Grizzlies were sure to be in for a battle.  The rebels struck early with a goal 30 seconds into the game.  That would be all for the Rebels on this day.  The Grizzlies battled through a 5 on 5 overtime, 4 on 4 overtime, and 3 on 3 overtime before going to the shootout.  In the 8th round after a Grizzlies goal by Ryan McCormick, Grizzlies goalie Zach Saver made a stop to bring home the title for the Grizzlies.  Congratulations on a great season!  This is a big win for the entire Grizzlies organization and the Grundy Arena.
