Danbury Whalers End of the Season Party

The Federal Hockey League is proud to announce forward Vadim Guskov of the Berkshire Battalion is the inaugural recipient of the FHL Man of the Year Award. Guskov was selected by league and team officials after reviewing fan nominations that recognized deserving players for their off-the-ice community involvement.
Guskov, 23, joined the Federal Hockey League in 2014-15 from Kazan, Russia. Referred to by his teammates and fans as “Goose”, became an immediate hit for Berkshire both on and off the ice, and was nominated for the award because of his positive role model for community youth in North Adams.
FHL Commissioner Don Kirnan commented that “The award was challenging to select because of the quality of nominations that were submitted. To read personal stories about the players and the difference they make in their communities is inspiring, and Vadim is a terrific example of that. I’m very proud of our players and to see this response from our fans in amazing.”
Guskov will be recognized in a pre-game ceremony on Saturday, March 7th prior just prior to Berkshire’s puck drop at 7:35 PM against the Watertown Wolves. Fans around the league submitted their nominations via website. The seven other finalists for the award are:
Berkshire forwards Mike Dolman and Martin Uhnak, and defenseman Jeff Sanders
Danbury forward David Lun
Steel City forward Dennis Semenov
Watertown defenseman Kris McCarthy and goalie Jo St. Pierre
The Class-A Level professional Federal Hockey League is in its 5th season of operation has teams located in Danbury (CT), Berkshire (MA), Watertown (NY), Steel City (PA), Dayton (OH), and Danville (IL).
