EAST MEADOW, New York – Congratulations to both the Long Island Gulls ’04 team and ’03 team on capturing the Long Island Amateur Hockey League Championships earlier this week at Twin Rinks at Eisenhower Park.

The 04’s won it all with just 2.7 seconds left to go in the game to defeat the Long Island Royals, 2-1.

The Royals struck first on the scoreboard in the opening frame with 5:48 left on an even strength goal.

In the second period trailing 1-0, the Gulls found the equalizer with 7:49 left on Jack Adam’s tally. Defenseman Eddie Romano joined the rush, passed to Adams, who buried the puck in the net to tie the game.

Tied 1-1 in the third, and with less than 10 seconds left, defenseman Tyler Mills pinched in deep chipping the puck to forward Michael Meyer, who shot a one timer on net. Forward Jake Manfre picked up the rebound and scored the winning goal with 2.7 left on the clock to give the Gulls the title!

Congratulations to the boys and coaches Lenny Raimondi, John DeLorenzo, Peter Ferraro and Chris Ferraro!

The Gulls ‘03’s took home the LIAHL crown after defeating the Westchester Express in triple overtime!
