Friday: Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings 2 VS Wooster Oilers 1
The Central Division-leading Riverkings kicked off the weekend, with a win over the second place Oilers. After Wooster took a 1-0 lead after the first on a goal from Brandon Scholze, the Riverkings received second period goals from Jake Nitsche and Tyler Harkins to take a 2-0 lead. Goaltender Cody Stein stopped all 15 shots he faced in the third period, and 41-of-42 overall to preserve the win.
Saturday: Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings 6 VS Wooster Oilers 1
The Riverkings used a pair of goals from Tyler Harkins and goals from four others to take Game Two of the weekend series. Graham Walsh, Blake Zabinski, Blake Anderson, and Jake Nitsche picked up the other goals for Wisconsin Rapids, while Bradley Sneed had the lone goal for Wooster. Cody Stein had another stellar night in goal, stopping 30 of the 31 shots thrown his way to pick up the win.
Sunday: Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings 5 VS Wooster Oilers: 4
A Tyler Harkins hat trick helped propel the Kings to a weekend sweep of the Oilers. The two sides traded goals all night long as Wisconsin Rapids had a 3-1 lead early in the second, on a pair from Harkins, and one from Graham Walsh. Will Scober scored for Wooster. The Oilers battled back to take a 4-3 lead, on consecutive markers from Jeffrey Skinner, Rubin Chavarria, and Bradley Sneed, however the game-tying goals from Dave Landau and, and the winner from Harkins in the third sealed the game for Wisconsin Rapids. Tyler Martz made 41 saves on the night to earn the win.
