Couture's hat trick boosts Bozeman over Glacier, 7-2

Glacier and the Bozeman Icedogs were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Glacier made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.
Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Joshua Larson's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.
Larson was all over the ice for Glacier, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Larson scored the first of his two goals at 18:17 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Matt Gamblin picked up the assist. Larson's next tally made the score 3-2 Glacier with 4:55 left in the third period. Glacier had gotten the advantage when Bozeman's Cole Blatter was sent off for head contact. Gavin Lubin provided the assist.
Glacier forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. Glacier had been averaging 28.0 minutes in penalties per game. Glacier kept the Icedogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Denijs Romanovskis made 47 saves on 50 shots.
Glacier also got points from Gamblin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.
Bozeman was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and two majors for 46 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 21.0 minutes per game the Icedogs had been spending in the box. Bozeman's offense rang up 41 shots on Glacier's net.
The Icedogs were led by Gunnar Mogck, who finished with two goals. Mogck scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:41 into the second period to make the score 1-1. An interference penalty on Jarod Ackerman had put Bozeman on the power play. Ryan Erickson picked up the assist. Mogck's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Bozeman with 2:03 left in the second period. Kyler Chartier provided the assist. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Jake Nicks, who had one.
Ryan Lund made 39 saves for Glacier on 41 shots. Glacier registered one goal on six power play opportunities. The Icedogs registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
