The Goderich Flyers' Cody McIntyre scored 2:46 into overtime to beat the Mitchell Hawks, 4-3 (OT).

Goderich's penalty kill excelled, as the Flyers gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Goderich was led by McIntyre, who registered one goal.

The Flyers forced Mitchell goalie Keaton Weiss to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

Goderich additionally got points from Curtis Taylor, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Goderich also had goals scored by Mitch Kuik and Marcel Fohkens, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Goderich were Brandon Priestap, who had two and Taylor Helesic, Joseph Dykstra, and Jesse McIntyre, who each chipped in one.

Goderich was unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Mitchell eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

The Hawks were helped by Trevor MacDonald, who had one goal. MacDonald scored 4:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mitchell. Jake Finlayson picked up the assist. Mitchell also got points from Adam Zehr, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Mitchell also got a goal from Scott Munro as well. More assists for Mitchell came via Bayley Boyes, who had one and McKenzie Carter, who had two.

The Flyers' Nathan Watson stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Goderich incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Weiss recorded 42 saves for Mitchell. The Hawks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
