Hanover downs Goderich in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Jarrett Kuntz gave the Hanover Barons a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Goderich Flyers when he scored 1:32 into the extra period.

Kuntz had two goals and one assist to lead Hanover. Kuntz scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 5:33 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Hanover. The Barons had gotten the advantage when Goderich's Brandon Priestap was sent off for slashing. Tyson Soers provided the assist. Kuntz's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Hanover with 18:28 left in overtime. Soers picked up the assist.

Hanover pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

The Flyers were unable to stop the Barons from sending pucks towards the net, and Hanover eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Hanover also got points from Soers, who also finished with one goal and two assists. In addition, Hanover received assists from Justin D Graham, who had one.

Goderich's offense rang up 34 shots on the Barons' net.

The Flyers were helped by Adam Cousins, who racked up one goal. Cousins scored on the power play 6:38 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Goderich. Goderich earned a power play opportunity when Brodie Lemay was put in the box for goalie interference. Joseph Dykstra assisted on the tally. Goderich also got a goal from Nick Gowing as well. Other players who recorded assists for Goderich were Curtis Taylor and Marcel Fohkens, who contributed one each.

Cody Van der Heide made 32 saves for Hanover on 34 shots. The Barons registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Hanover ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Maxwell Barclay was ejected from the game. Pat Do rejected 36 shots on goal for the Flyers. Goderich incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
