Friday: Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings 5 @ Wooster Oilers 3

A Tyler Harkins hat-trick lifted Wisconsin to a third consecutive win. The teams went back-and-forth all night long, as a 1-0 Wooster advantage on a goal from Rubin Chavarria, turned into a 2-1 edge after the first period for Wisconsin Rapids, thanks to goals from Harkins and Eric Arrigo. Wooster’s Casey Carpenter and Jeffrey Skinner potted second period markers which were sandwiched around a tally from the Riverkings’ Dave Landau, however back-to-back goals from Harkins in the third sealed the win for Wisconsin Rapids. Cody Stein was in goal for the Kings, stopping 19 of the 22 shots he saw to earn the win.

Saturday: Wooster Oilers 4 VS Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings 2

The Riverkings came out strong in the opening period, taking a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes on goals from Blake Zabinski and Jake Nitsche, after Andy Romani put Wooster up, 1-0, 5:30 into the frame. After a scoreless second period, the Oilers exploded for a trio of goals from Will Schoeber, Brandon Scholze, and Remington Reynolds, sealing the 5-2 win. Matt Douglas stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced to pick up the win.

Sunday: Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings 3 @ Wooster Oilers 1

The Riverkings picked up their second win over Wooster on the weekend, moving them into first in the Central Division. Wooster carried a 1-0 lead through 40 minutes on a first period marker from Jeffrey Skinner. In the third, Blake Zabinski, Logan Fogg, and Tyler Harkins each scored for the Kings, sealing the 3-1 win. Cody Stein made 25 saves on 26 shots to pick up his second win of the weekend
