After skating scoreless through the opening 40 minutes, Illiana exploded for three goals in just under seven minutes in the third, as Nathan Aloisio, Joe Fiandaca, and Jordan Keller each lit the lamp. Tyler Crites scored for the Oilers, but Blackbirds goaltender Larry Pezzuto held firm, stopping 17-of-18 to pick up the win. Creighton Furber kicked out 18 of the 21 shots he faced in the loss.

Game 2: Illiana Blackbirds 4 @ Wooster Oilers 1

A two-goal night for Nathan Aloisio, along with markers from Jordan Keller and Griffin Mason sent Illiana to their second win on the young season. Martin Miloslavich turned aside 27 of the 28 shots he faced to pick up his first career victory. Andy Romani deposited the only goal for Wooster, and Steven Schmitt stopped 14 shots in the loss.

Game 3: Illiana Blackbirds 3 @ Wooster Oilers 0

Nathan Aloisio picked up his fourth goal on the weekend, and Kyler Porter and Anthony DiDiana contributed a goal each to lift Illiana to the weekend sweep of the Oilers. Joe Stoflo was stellar in net, turning aside all 27 shots he faced. Oilers netminder Matt Douglas stopped 11-of-13 to pick up the loss.
