The Kincardine Bulldogs and the Hanover Barons were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Kincardine made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.
The Bulldogs gained the winning advantage on a goal by Patrick Wiejak 11:17 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.
Kincardine was paced by Wiejak, who grabbed one goal.
Others who scored for Kincardine included Carter Strachan and Shawn Moore, who scored one goal each. More assists for Kincardine came via Gerrit Satosek, Mike Smailes, Sam Feagan, and Matthew Mah, who contributed one each.
Hanover stifled the Bulldogs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
The Barons were helped by Denver Hill, who had one goal. Hill scored on the power play 57 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Cole Leslie assisted on the tally. Lukas Heathers also scored for Hanover.
Kincardine's Luke Aulthouse stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Bulldogs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Gord Walmsley made 26 saves for Hanover on 29 shots. The Barons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
