The Goulbourn Hornets Major Atom Boys team brought home the Bronze medal for Division 6 of the Ontario Basketball Provincial Championships during the weekend of April 5th.

The team was ranked 5th in the 8 team division and started off the tournament against the #1 ranked team  Kingston Impact. The Hornets jumped out to a good lead and maintained it throughout the game resulting in a 39-28 win. The team continued with a solid performance against the #4 ranked Niagara Rangers winning 47-40. In spite of losing to the Tecumseh Saints in the third game, they finished first in pool play.

On Sunday, they faced off against the Etobicoke Thunder #2 in semi-final play. In a tense and emotionally charged game, the Hornets lost 44-50. As a result, the Hornets met Team Breakdown OYIA for the bronze medal battle. The team had a good start and led 20-11 at half. In the third quarter, Team Breakdown made a push and the game got very tense. In the end the Goulbourn Hornets pulled out the win by 2 points and were rewarded with the Bronze medal.
