Hayes helps the Alaska Goldpanners down the Anchorage Bucs 3-2

The Alaska Goldpanners (28-7) beat the Anchorage Bucs (25-16) 3-2 in seven innings on Monday at Mulcahy Field behind Jacob Hayes, who went 1-1 and hit a home run.

He homered in the second inning.

Miles Chambers brought the heat against the Anchorage Bucs during his outing. Chambers held the Anchorage Bucs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

It was a good day at the plate for the Anchorage Bucs' Grant Palmer. Palmer went 3-4. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.

Joel Belk improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Alaska Goldpanners. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Evan Manarino ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
