An ace performance by Jimmy Nesselt carried the Peninsula Oilers (18-15) to a 1-0 win in seven innings over the Anchorage Bucs (22-13) on Tuesday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.
Nesselt held the Anchorage Bucs scoreless during his seven innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out three.
A bright spot for the Anchorage Bucs in the defeat was Evan Manarino, who allowed only one run while striking out nine.
Manarino was charged with his second loss of the year.
