A magnificent effort by Vahn Bozoian lifted the Alaska Goldpanners (23-6) to an 8-4 win in seven innings over the Anchorage Glacier Pilots (17-15) on Sunday at Growden Memorial Park.
Bozoian rocked the Anchorage Glacier Pilots with two home runs. Bozoian went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Bozoian homered in the first and third innings.
Shaun Wood hit two home runs for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. Wood went 2-4 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Wood homered in the first and third innings.
The Alaska Goldpanners had no answer for Joe Adel, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Alaska Goldpanners managed just one hit off of Adel, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his three innings of work.
Miles Chambers improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Alaska Goldpanners. Chambers struck out three, walked one and gave up three hits.
Tyler Fox couldn't get it done on the mound for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
