Hockey Operations Suspended Indefinitely

The Pensacola Ice Flyers were firing on all cylinders against Mississippi Surge, and when the final buzzer sounded Ice Flyers emerged with a 5-1 win.
Pensacola was led by Corey Banfield, who tallied one goal. Banfield scored 3:33 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pensacola. Tyler Amburgey provided the assist.
The Ice Flyers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. With 50 shots on target during the contest, Pensacola exceeded the 30.4 shots it averages per game this year.
Pensacola additionally got points from Brett Lutes, who also registered one goal and one assist and Joe Caveney, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Ryan Salvis also scored for Pensacola. Other players who recorded assists for Pensacola were Mitchell Good, Adam Pawlick, John Dunbar, and Jeremy Gates, who contributed one each.
Mississippi Surge stifled the Ice Flyers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Mississippi Surge relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Trever Hertz, Andrew Harrison and Tom Craig took nine of the team's 16 shots.
Mississippi Surge was led by Kyle Kudroch, who scored the team's only goal. Kudroch scored 16:50 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Pensacola. Bennett Schneider assisted on the tally.
Pensacola's Ross MacKinnon stopped 15 shots out of the 16 that he faced. The Ice Flyers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Alex Scola rejected 45 shots on goal for Mississippi Surge. Mississippi Surge incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
