Yet again, an NECBL alumnus has been named a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week.

This time, the honor goes to former Sanford Mainer Nic Wilson.  Wilson, a first baseman for Georgia State, hit five homers and 15 RBI during the Panthers’ five games in the week of March 10th to 16th.  He batted 11-for-19, slugged 1.421 and had an on base percentage of .625.

A 6’6”, 240 pound senior slugger from Decatur, GA, Wilson appeared for the Sanford Mainers in 2013.  He hit .230 but had 14 extra base hits and racked up a .360 on base percentage while appearing in all 46 of Sanford’s games.   Wilson was the only NECBL player last summer to hit two or more triples while also homering at least five times.  He also ranked in the League’s top 10 in walks.

The NECBL congratulates Nic on this outstanding achievement.
