Nick Novin netted a hat trick to lead East Coast Eagles over Hampton Roads Whalers, 7-2.

Novin got on the scoresheet 1:14 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:27 into the first and at 13:43 into the second.

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Hampton Roads Whalers faces elimination next time out.

East Coast Eagles made Hampton Roads Whalers' netminders to work without much rest, launching 46 shots and forcing 39 saves. Taylor Brost made 33 stops and Chase Wilson made six.

East Coast Eagles also got points from Zac Keryluk, who also tallied one goal and one assist andBrock Martin, who also had one goal and two assists. East Coast Eagles also got a goal fromMarcus Mazur as well. Leach scored 14:16 into the first period to make the score 3-1 East Coast Eagles. Regen Cavanagh picked up the assist. Sean Carpenter also scored for Hampton Roads Whalers.
