Cole Hepler lifted Freeport to a 6-3 victory with a hat trick against Westmont Hilltop.

Hepler's first goal came 4:32 into the first period. He then added goals at seven seconds into the second and at 16:41 into the third.

Freeport's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Westmont Hilltop power plays.

Others who scored for Freeport included Stone Haberstroh, Michael Frazetta, and Thomas Intrieri, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Freeport were Nick Rusak, who had two and Hunter Kepple and Cassandra Suran, who each chipped in one.

Westmont Hilltop forced Freeport goalie Matthew Huston to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Westmont Hilltop gave up more goals than its normal season average. Westmont Hilltop gives up 1.9 goal per game.
