Dogs Wake Up In 3rd Period In Win Over Mimico

Date:  Source: OJBLL: Halton Hills Bulldogs (NEW)

Over a 20-game schedule there will be a few nights when you can honestly say, "that wasn't pretty."  Thursday night in Mimico was certainly one of those nights as the Bulldogs defeated the Mountaineers 10-6.

The offence struggled mightly through the first two periods which resulted in the Dogs trailing 5-4 heading to the third period.

Right off the hop in the third period, you could see this was a different group than had run up and down the floor through the first two periods.

The third period featured a focused and determined group on offence that wouldn't be stopped.  Brendan MacDonald again scored one for the highlight reel.  With his back to the goal, he ripped an underhand backhand behind an unsuspecting Mimico netminder to put an exclamation point on the Dogs third period revival.

Dustin Hanzelka was stellar in goal from start to finish earning his 7th win of the season.  Overall, the Dogs improved to 8-2-1 on the season.

Sunday against Mimico, the Dogs will get another offensive boost with the return of Michael MacDonald who was attending Princeton.  Thursday was a travel day for the younger of the two MacDonald brothers and he wasn't able to return in time to suit up in Mimico.

Sunday's game is a 7pm start time at Alcott Arena in Georgetown.
