WENATCHEE, Wash. - The Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy is excited to serve as host of the 2026 Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association's Tier I state tournament, set for this Thursday through Sunday at Town Toyota Center and the Weinstein Beverage Rink in Wenatchee. Seven teams across three divisions will compete in this year's tournament, with the state's top 14-and-Under, 16-and-Under and 18-and-Under teams qualifying for USA Hockey's Pacific District tournaments, scheduled for February 26 to March 1 in San Jose, California.
"It's going to be a really busy weekend," said Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy director Troy Mick. "It's exciting to host the Tier I state championship, and we hope fans will come out and watch some really good hockey. We've got beautiful facilities, and great hotels and restaurants here who are going to benefit from it."
The Wenatchee 14U, 16U and 18U teams will be joined at the tournament by the Seattle Jr. Kraken at all three levels, and by STAR Hockey Academy from Kent at the 14U level. The tournament begins with 14U play Thursday, with games between the Wild Hockey Academy and Jr. Kraken at 11:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. Seattle and STAR Academy will play a pair of games Friday, followed by games between Wenatchee and STAR Academy on Saturday. The top two teams will play a winner-take-all final Sunday at 10:45 a.m. to decide PNAHA's representative in the Pacific District Tournament.
The 16U and 18U tournaments between Wenatchee and Seattle will be played as a best-of-three series, with the first game in each series set for Friday and all remaining games to be played on Saturday. The first team to win two games in the series will be declared the state champion, and will represent PNAHA in the Pacific District Tournament.
Admission to this year's tournament is free - fans are encouraged to follow the Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy's social media for the latest updates, including live-streaming of tournament games.
