Following the teams big tournament win CBJ would go on to play 3 exhibition games in preparation for the next contest on Thursday. CBJ and Team England skated to an exciting 4-4 tie on Monday. Goals in the game came from Tylet Schroeder (assisted by Ian Bushong and Adam Hoover), Connor Hisaw (assisted by Jared Tyson) and Deric Richison (assisted by Jared Tyson). Ron Ambrosia scored his second big goal of the week tieing the game in the final 20 seconds of the game.
The parents enjoyed a Sunday at the snowpark tubing with the players ending in a dinner with the billett families at Casa de Greque.
CBJ went on to play the Moncton Wildcats the following day losing the game 3-1. A good defensive zone play by Dante Moretti led for a late 3rd period goal by Joseph Halsey (assisted by Jared Tyson). The goal cut the Moncton lead in half but the late push was not enough as an empty net goal would end the game in a 3-1 final.
Parents went to the nearby Ice Hotel for a tour and enjoyed a Quebec tradition of syrup on a stick-locals would pour a line of syrup on clean snow and you take a stick and roll it like a taffy.
In final preparation for their next tournament game, CBJ would face off against the Long Island Edge. The game saw a defensive battle between the two teams with CBJ coming out on top with a 1-0 win. Defensemen, Grant Bertges and Nate Skidmore both turned in solid defensive efforts in the win and forward Evan Arnold helped the team on several big penalty kills. The only goal of the game came in the 3rd period by Tyler Schroeder (assisted by Dakotah Marshall). Goaltenders, Grant Rodgers and Shayne DeWitt combined for a shootout in the victory.
Parents visited the beautiful Montmorency Falls and took pictures of the beautiful scenery.
Note: The next big tournament game for the team is Thursday morning, 2-21-13 against the San Jose Sharks at 9:15 am. The CBJ 2000 team is led by former CBJ player,Andrew Cassels and his assistant coach, Jesse Predhomme.
