Bee Jays Name Two Assistants for 2026

A former Liberal Bee Jays player who was born in Liberal will return to Liberal to be head coach of the Liberal Bee Jays this summer. Caeden Trenkle will take the helm of the Bee Jay program in 2026. Trenkle is an assistant coach at Dodge City Community College. He works with outfielders, hitters, and recruiting. Trenkle played three years at Oklahoma State where he was Freshman All American and all conference selection. Trenkle was drafted in the ninth round and played four years in the Athletics organization. Trenkle, the son of former Seward men’s basketball assistant coach Swede Trenkle, played for the Bee Jays in 2020 and hit .410, with two home runs, 35 RBI’s, 54 runs, eight doubles, and five triples for the Bee Jays who went 30-9 under coach Eric Olmstead. Trenkle was born in Liberal and grew up in Hillsboro, Texas. His mom was also born in Liberal.
The Bee Jays went 15-15 in 2025 and were 11-14 in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League. The Bee Jays have won the most games in the history of the National Baseball Congress and won titles in 1968, 1979, 1985, 2000, and 2010.
