The Pirates are shut out again; Drop game against Scranton, 8-0

Date:  Source: Seton Hall University Ice Hockey

Final Score: Seton Hall 0 -- Scranton 8
Date: October 17, 2025
Location: Revolution Ice Centre, Pittston, PA

Scranton dominated the game from the opening faceoff; they put an alarming 74 shots on goal, which contributed to their 8-0 shutout. Seton Hall, limited to 25 shots, struggled to sustain offensive pressure or generate high-danger scoring chances. Despite the outstanding effort of the Pirates’ goaltenders, the Royals’ offensive depth highlighted a disparity in both execution and puck control between the two squads. The Pirates committed 6 penalties, giving Scranton a PP goal and opportunities for power-play chances, which contributed to the score line and the high shot volume. The Royals improved to 4-0 in league play, remaining undefeated so far this season. The Pirates dropped another game for their 5th straight loss, with a record of 1-6-0 (1-4 in CSCHC). They will look to bounce back after an extended break against West Chester and TCNJ Halloween weekend. The Pirates have given up 5.42 goals per game, while their goalies have posted a .862 save % so far this season, which has kept the Pirates in games.
