D1 defeats Towson 4-3

The West Virginia ACHA D1 hockey team defeated the Towson Tigers 4-2 at Morgantown Municipal Ice Arena.

 

WVU opened the scoring while both teams had a man in the box, as Dan Pfalzer set up Jake Moleski after both broke pasy the Towson defense. Towson then tied it up with 6:36 left in the first period.

 

But two minutes and twenty one seconds into the second period, Leo Haban scored off a Tyler Howcroft assist to put the Mountaineers ahead, and Jake Moleski scored with 10:11 left in the second period, with Justin Hickey on the assist to go up 3-1  

 

West Virginia added a fourth with 3:46 left in the second, with Wyatt Murphy assisting Joe Murphy.

 

Towson scored one minute and 14 seconds into the third period, but that was all as the Mountaineers were victorious.
