D1 defeats Towson 8-0

The West Virginia ACHA D1 hockey team won in a blowout, winning 8-0 against the Towson Tigers at Morgantown Municipal Ice Arena.

 

WVU struck first one minute and thirty three seconds into the game when Scott Samples scored off a Jake Moleski assist, and then scored again with 12:45 left in the first period when Tyler Howcroft and Caden Knorr assisted Leo Haban.

 

A third goal was added with 10:58 when Dan pfalzer scored, assisted by Jacob Kosinski

 

And with 4:27 left in the period, Haban assisted Knorr to put the Mountaineers up 4-0.

 

One minute and 43 seconds into the second period, Moleski scored off a Justin Hickey assist for the fifth goal.

 

With 4:58 left in the second period, Moleski got another assist, setting up Camille Marcoux to put the Mountaineers up by half a dozen goals.

 

And with 2:16 left before the second intermission, once again Knorr scored on a Haban assist, making it 7-0, and Wyatt Murphy scored just 13 seconds later, with Hickey on the assist.

 

Unfortunately, the game was cut short in the third period due to an injury.
