The West Virginia ACHA D1 hockey team lost 4-3 vs the Kent State Golden Eagles at Morgantown Municipal Ice Arena, giving up three unanswered goals.
West Virginia took a first period lead, as Jake Moleski scored an unassisted goal with 13:29 to go to make the score 1-0 Mountaineers.
However, Kent State tied it up at 1-1 with 14:47 left in the second period.
Moleski helped put the Mountaineers up again when he and Jonathan Stouffer assisted Wyatt Murphy’s goal with eight minutes left in the second period.
The Golden Eagles equalized the score again with a goal with 16:55 left in the third period, and then took the lead with five minutes and five seconds later, adding a fourth 42 seconds later.
West Virginia made the score 4-3 with 2:35 left in the game.
The Mountaineers play again next Saturday when they travel to face the Robert Morris University Colonials at the RMU Island Sports Center.
