Trappers Pitcher Fischer Rausch No-Hits Whiskey Jacks

PIERRE, S.D. – For the second time this season, the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks have been no-hit. Pierre Trappers pitcher Fischer Rausch (2-3, 4.91 ERA) no-hit the Whiskey Jacks, striking out a season-high ten batters (previous high was six strikeouts in three appearances). Rausch recorded the first no-hitter in Trappers history. On the offensive side, every Trappers starter collected at least one hit. 

 

Trappers second baseman Ty Stauss went 1-for-3, bringing home right fielder Richard Williams and catcher Thomas McKenna for a two-RBI single in the bottom of the 7th inning. Williams also collected a two-RBI single in the 2nd inning. First baseman Nicholas Strong went 1-for-4 with a RBI, singling in the 7th inning, bringing home Stauss.

 

Whiskey Jacks pitcher Ronny Piepmeier (1-4, 7.91 ERA) recorded the loss, going six innings on two runs allowed (both earned), walking two batters, and striking out four batters. Cameron Daigle gave up three runs (all unearned) in an inning of work.

 

The Whiskey Jacks (18-25) return to Grand Forks Friday to begin a three-game home stretch versus the Trappers (13-30). First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. at Kraft Field.
