The HEO Minor AAA League, in collaboration with HEO Minor, is pleased to announce the approval of a one year pilot project for spring tryouts for the upcoming 2020-2021 season.

The 5 AAA associations (Cyclones, Jr 67’s, Myers, Titans, Wild) along with 4 District Chairs from HEO Minor and the HEO Minor AAA League have formed a working group to implement the spring tryout format at the conclusion of the current season’s playoffs and provincial tournaments.

The overall framework details are as follows: 

• Spring Tryouts will start in May with the team rosters being finalized in August

• Associations may run optional skills camps before tryouts

• Associations will identify approx. 20 players in May

• Identified players will move on to a final one day tryout session in late August

• Players released in May would move on to AA tryouts in August like previous years

• Practices for AAA will begin in September 2020

• Other than the final one day tryout session in August, players will have the summer off

The spring tryouts working group will finalize details concerning dates, format of the May tryouts and August single day final releases as well as the process for home association registration.  Further information will be provided shortly by the AAA associations.

All existing Hockey Canada, HEO and HEO Minor policies related to player movement, discipline, etc will remain unchanged.
