ELKVILLE, Ill. - The Prospect League, in conjunction with Pointstreak and Blue Star Sports, is pleased to name Michael Rothmund (Danville Dans / University of Illinois Springfield) and Brad Depperman (Lafayette Aviators / University of North Florida) as week seven Player and Pitcher of the Week.

Rothmund, from Lombard, Ill., hit .464 (13-for-28) over eight games during the week. The six-foot-six, 240-pound infielder hit three doubles, a triple, one home run and drove in 13. On the season, Rothmund is hitting .331 and ranked third in the Prospect League in home runs (10), second in RBIs (42), third in runs scored (38), second in total bases (89), third in extra-base hits (21) and third in slugging percentage (.640).

Depperman, from Palm Harbor, Fla., started the Aviators' July 13 game at Springfield and tossed six shutout innings, surrendered just three hits, walked one and struck out 13. The six-foot, 200-pound right-hander is 3-2 on the season through eight appearances (six starts) with a 2.63 ERA. In 41 innings this season, Depperman has 76 strikeouts and allowed just 29 hits and eight walks.
