Rebels and Mitens Shutout Wildcats 3 – 0
Date: Sep 25, 2016
Pre-Season Games are a great way for teams to see where they are at as the regular season draws closer and what areas need addressing.
The Amarillo Bulls played a strong first 30 minutes and built a 2-1 early lead only to see the Odessa Jackalopes rally with six unanswered and go on to a 7-3 triumph at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.
The Bulls had 44 shots in the game but managed just one marker over the final half as they couldn’t get anything else past rookie Johnny Hogue. Kyle Madore began the game in goal for the Bulls and shared duties with Alex Cathcart. The 3rd goaltender Nikita Babintsev did not play.
Jonathan Dagnal gave the Bulls a 1-0 on a close play in front of the net from Hayden Broomhead and Phil Fromberger. That goal came near the midway mark of the opening period. Odessa tied the game on the power play in the final three minutes of the stanza with a power play goal.
The Bulls special teams went to work in the second period and it was Steven Ipri who scored from Charlie Singerhouse and Tyler Hall. The Jackalopes took over the game with three goals in a four minute span, including two that went off a deflection.
Kosta Likourezos rounded out the scoring for the Bulls in the third period from Eric Cooley and Luke Edgerton.
