FCBL All Stars

Date:  Source: NECBL: MV Sharks (Martha's Vineyard)

Six members of the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks were named to the Futures League All-Star team thanks to their outstanding performances in the first half of the season.

The Sharks had five position players make the All-Star roster. Leading the way was Dillon Nelson (Indian Hills CC) who leads the Sharks with a .366 batting average. Alex Lewis (Longwood U) and Jake Farrell (Northeastern) have provided power for the Sharks, with the pair launching five and three home runs respectively and each have a slugging percentage of over .500. Farrell will also participate in the home run derby in the lead-up to the All-Star game. Jacob Rhinesmith (Indian Hills CC) joins his collegiate teammate Nelson as an All-Star after batting .304 and scoring a team-high 19 runs. Finally, J.D. Andreesen (Campbell) has played just 15 games, but his .429 on-base percentage along with stellar defense behind the plate helped him earn All-Star status.

Joining those five on the All-Star team is pitcher Jack Nelson (BC). Nelson has 30 strikeouts in 23 innings pitched and has an ERA of just 2.34 and a WHIP of 1.040. Nelson could potentially be joined by Andrew Misiaszek (Northeastern) who is up for the Fan Favorite vote. Misiaszek will have to beat out four other players in a fan vote to secure the final All-Star spot. He will hope his stats of a perfect 2-0 record and a 2.95 ERA will propel him into the voting lead.
