Bears add Top Prospect from Breezy Point

SPRINGFIELD, MO – Breezy Point North Stars defenseman, Patrik Johansson, is the latest to commit to Missouri State University for the 2016-2017 campaign.

The Sorunda, Sweden native chose to commit to Missouri State due to the great reputation of the hockey program around the NA3HL.

The 6’0, 200 lbs defenseman prides himself on being a stable shut down defensemen who gives his team his best every game.

“As a defenseman, he flies under the radar a lot. One thing with Pat, you get his best every night,” said Breezy Point head coach Jeff Worlton.

Johansson models his game after Detroit Redwings blue liner, Niklas Kronwall. “I love that he can make plays and lay people out.”

While playing at Breezy Point, Johansson recorded 9 points and 64 PIMs in 47 games. Also in the 2015-2016 season, Johansson was selected to Team West in the NA3HL Top Prospects Game.

“I want to be a dependable guy night in and night out. There is only one thing to my mind and that’s winning a National championship, that’s why we play.”

Johansson plans on studying business while in Springfield. “I chose to commit to Missouri State because it’s a great school and I think I will thrive both as a student and as an athlete.”

When not on the ice or in the classroom, Johansson enjoys watching the English Premier League.
