Danville Forces Game 3 with a 4-2 Win in Port Huron

Port Huron, MI - With Port Huron stealing a game 1 victory, Danville would return the favor with a 4-2 victory in game 2 to force a game 3 tomorrow night.

A fast paced first period put the Dashers up top 2-0 in the first ten minutes. Justin Brausen would cash in on the power play to make it 1-0. Ray Tremblay and Daniel Turgeon would register assists on the power play goal from Brausen. Four minutes later Gerhett Sargis would make it 2-0. A floating puck sent into the zone from Derrick Schwartz would land on Sargis' stick and he would rip one far side on DiCristofaro to make it 2-0. Port Huron battled back in the first period. Zach Tatrn would net his 1st goal of the playoffs, coming from Jason Pietrasiak and Julian Frazer. Danville however would regain their two goal lead. Justin Levac would make it 3-1 Dashers from Brent Clarke and Brian Soskin. That's the way the first period ended Dashers on top 3-1 heading into the dressing room.

Second Period both goaltenders would be perfect, although Danville would control the tempo of play in the middle frame. Danville put up 15 shots to the Prowlers 8, and the Danville Dashers would be 20 minutes away from forcing a game three.

Third period the Prowlers would finally find twine to get within one 13 minutes into the first period. Dustin Skinner would fire a wrister from the slot that Matt Anthony made the initial save on, but the rebound floated over Anthony's head into the net to make it a one shot hockey game. Danville however would quickly quiet the Prowlers fans 1:46 later Jonathon Juliano would put the Dashers back up by two goals and that's the way it would end. Andy Di'Cristofaro made 38 saves on 42 Dasher shots while Matt Anthony gets his 1st win in the FHL playoffs making 28 stops on 30 shots. Port Huron's power play went 0-4 on the evening, and is now 9-52 (17.3%) against Danville this season.

Game 3 will be tomorrow night at 5:00pm. The winner of game 3 will advance to the commissioner cup finals to take on the Danbury Titans.
