Most games feature a big inning or two from the winning team, in this one the Atleticos started with a big inning, and it didn't stop until the end of the game. San Luis piled run on top of run the entire game; scoring at least 1 every time they took the plate. 4 in the 1st, then 1, then 2, followed by 1 more, then 3 in the 5th, and closing the door with 5 in the bottom of 6.
A fantastic day by the Atleticos was essencial because Long Beach didn't do too terribly themselves. They scored 7 Runs in 7 Innings off 10 hits and 4 errors on defense, but those errors look uglier in the stats than they did on the field, as they didn't account for many San Luis runs. The main factor in this one was the batting of the Atleticos, they started hitting and didn't stop.
Some great days at the plate of San Luis deserve mentioning:
AJ Simmons: 2 for 4, 3B, 2B, 3RBI
Bryan Marquez: 4 for 5, 3B, 2B, 2 RBI
Ramon Geronimo: 2 for 3, 2B, RBI
Matt Nilmeyer: 3 for 4, RBI
Scores from around the League:
Blythe - 9
Saskatchewan - 5
San Diego - 9
Yuma - 2
Canada - 11
Calexico - 11
