
WC East Varsity Girls tried its best to erase a five-goal deficit, but Unionville would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 7-5.
Unionville took a 7-2 lead during the third period, only to have WC East storm back on a Kristen Eland goal 14:17 into the third period to pull to two goals down.
Jordan Hower was all over the ice for Unionville, as she tallied two goals and three assists in the win. Hower scored the first of her two goals at 4:00 into the second period to make the score 4-0 Unionville. Hower's next tally made the score 6-1 Unionville with 13:04 left in the third period. Lizzy Gaebel assisted on the tally.
Unionville forced WC East goalie Danielle Latare to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.
Unionville also got points from Madison Miles, who also racked up two goals and one assist and Gaebel, who also registered one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Unionville GV included Claire Donovan and Mia Impagliazzo, who scored one goal each.
