The Graders will take the field in Heise Park on Saturday, June 6, for their home opener against the Southern Ohio Copperheads.

Today Justin McMullen, president of Galion Youth Baseball, encouraged kids who participate in Youth Baseball to show up with their GYB shirt on to get into the game for free.

“Throughout the season, kids can also participate in on field promotions and stick around after the game for autographs,” he added.

After the game on June 6, there will also be a fireworks show.

The Graders are a nonprofit 501(c3) summer collegiate baseball team under the umbrella of Galion Youth Baseball. Grader games are a place that young ball players can come and hone their skills to continue their dream of playing pro baseball.

Local Major League veteran J.B Shuck once played in this same summer collegiate league in 2006, before beginning his professional career we’ve all watched and enjoyed.

The Graders are also a community-oriented organization that hopes to increase tourism by providing a place to gather and have fun in a family atmosphere.
